Melbourne AA Steps Weekend

The Melbourne AA Steps Weekend is on again
Friday the 19th to Sunday 21st May 2017.

Over 2 and half days, twenty six invited speakers will share their experience of the the Alcoholics Anonymous Twelve Step program. Each of the nine session ends with a Q&A period where the guest speakers can answer your queries about the steps.

The recordings from the 2016 event are currently being processed and are being uploaded one by one during March and April.

Cost

The $20 registration ticket includes tea and coffee all weekend as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Lunch is a sumptuous catered two course meal. Vegetarian and gluten free options available.

Parking and Transport

There's plenty of parking at the venue off Buckingham St.

If you are coming by train, go to the Heidelberg Station. We can pick you up when the train arrives at Heidelberg Station at 6:45pm on Friday or 9:12am on Saturday & Sunday. Call (03) 9028 2212 beforehand to arrange pick-up.

Friday Evening

7:00pm - Registration

7:30pm - Step One

We kick off Step One with a presentation and two speakers followed by a Q&A session.

  1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.

Saturday

9:00am - Registration

9:30am - Step Two

Speakers and Q&A about Step Two

  1. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

11:00am - Step Three

Speakers and Q&A about Step Three

  1. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

12:20pm - Lunch

1:30pm - Steps Four & Five

A visual presentation, speakers and Q&A about Step Four & Five

  1. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
  2. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

3:00pm - Steps Six & Seven

Speakers and Q&A about Steps Six & Seven

  1. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
  2. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Sunday

  1. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
  2. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

  1. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

  1. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

  1. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Our Group

The event is presented by the Working With Others AA Group.

We have AA meetings every Friday at 7:30pm and 10pm just down the road at St John's, 1 Burgundy St, Heidelberg
